Monica Mikolajczyk
Monica Mikolajczyk is an NASM Certified Personal Trainer, with specializations in postpartum pelvic floor and core training and corrective exercise. She is also a Nutritionist, with a Master of Science in Nutrition. Monica has been in the health and fitness field for several years, teaching group exercises classes from indoor cycling to hatha yoga, and she owned a juice business on the island of Maui, Hawaii for several years.
Monica is passionate about designing exercise programs for postpartum women that are dealing with pelvic floor dysfunctions (diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, and incontinence). Whether the client's goal is to run a marathon, gain muscle tone, shed excess weight, do jumping jacks without leaking, or just to feel strong and live pain free, her programs are safe, effective, and as unique as the individual. Exercise should leave you feeling empowered and capable, and her programs do just that.
When it comes to nutrition, Monica blends her knowledge of nutritional therapy with motivational interviewing and health coaching. She meets her clients where they are, supporting them as they recognize their long term goals. Monica works with them to find smaller, bite size goals that are achievable in the short term, but will inevitably lead them to their long term goals. Again, her approach is unique in that she focuses on educating her clients to choose nutrient-dense options over counting calories. Monica believes that balance and sustainability are key to success in this arena, especially in a society that favors fad diets and instant gratification. Her main goal when working with clients is to help them feel at home in their bodies.
Monica is the owner of Integral Health NC, LLC an online and in-person, personal training and nutritional consulting/coaching business (visit https://www.integralhealthnc.com/ for more information). She is also a Mama to a feisty 2-year-old girl, Ryan, a wife, a jewelry maker, and a writer. She loves to be outside as much as possible, enjoys being with her family, cooking, and is secretly amazing at baking sourdough bread (her starter's name is Wilma).
